About Club Plate Co: VicRoads-approved club
Club Plate Co is a VicRoads-approved car club for the Victorian Club Permit Scheme. We exist for one job: endorsing club permit applications and renewals for eligible vehicles, online, for $99 a year, with no meetings, no minimum membership period and no inspection fee. A VicRoads-approved club, run online
Club Plate Co is a Victorian limited partnership, ABN 25 733 190 203, trading as Club Plate Co. It is listed on the VicRoads register of approved clubs and associations under the Club Permit Scheme, which is the only thing that lets any club endorse a permit. VicRoads approved Club Plate Co as a club under the scheme on 18 May 2026.
That listing is the whole basis of the service. Under the scheme, a club permit can only be issued or renewed with the endorsement of an approved club, signed by an office bearer or scrutineer the club has notified to VicRoads. We are that club for our members; VicRoads remains the issuer of every permit, plate and logbook, and sets every fee and rule.
Membership is purchased online and costs $99 a year. There is no joining fee, no per-renewal charge and no attendance requirement. Our members are people who want to keep an eligible vehicle on the road legally for 45 or 90 days a year without joining a committee to do it.
Why we built an online club
Victoria has thousands of clubs on the approved list, and most of them are excellent at what they were built for: a marque, a district, a monthly meeting. Endorsing club permits is a side duty for a volunteer secretary. In practice that often means a qualifying period of a few months, attendance at an event or two before a form is signed, and a wait for the next meeting when a renewal notice arrives.
Sam and Riley started Club Plate Co because neither of those things has anything to do with whether a vehicle is eligible. The scheme rules are set by VicRoads. Our job is to check a vehicle against them honestly, sign the paperwork promptly, and keep the records the scheme requires. That can be done well over the web, so that is where we do it.
We also tell people when a club permit is the wrong answer. A car driven every day belongs on full registration, and we say so before anyone pays.
How endorsement works and who signs your form
VicRoads requires two things from the club on a new application: a completed Vehicle Eligibility and Standards Declaration for club permit vehicles, signed by a Club Safety Officer or Scrutineer, and confirmation that you are a current financial member. You have 30 days from the date on that declaration to lodge your application at a VicRoads Customer Service Centre, and your roadworthy certificate must be within 30 days as well.
Our signatories are the office bearers and scrutineers Club Plate Co has notified to VicRoads: Sam, our club president, who signs your endorsement, and Georgia, our club scrutineer, who checks the vehicle against the eligibility and standards rules. Applications are reviewed and endorsed online from the documents and photographs you upload; the signed declaration and your membership certificate are stored in your account. We reply the same business day, and endorsed documents come back within one business day.
Renewals work the same way. When your VicRoads renewal notice arrives, we endorse it (or sign the separate club permit endorsement form VicRoads accepts when it cannot be signed in person) and you complete the renewal with VicRoads.

Do not take our word for it. VicRoads publishes the list of approved clubs and associations on its club permit pages; Club Plate Co appears on it. Victoria-wide, by design
Club Plate Co serves the whole of Victoria. Because membership, the eligibility check and the endorsement all happen online, a member in Mildura or Sale gets the same service on the same day as a member in Melbourne. The two steps that cannot be done online, the roadworthy inspection and collecting your plates, happen at a licensed tester and a VicRoads Customer Service Centre near you.

Is Club Plate Co the same as the Red Plate Club?
No. Club Plate Co and the Victorian Red Plate Club are separate, unrelated organisations. Both are car clubs that operate under the Victorian Club Permit Scheme, and "red plates" is a common nickname for club permit plates, which is why the names get confused.
